- Open Photos and tap Collections at the bottom.
- Scroll down to Media Types and tap Screenshots.
- Tap Select in the top-right corner.
- Tap Select All to choose every screenshot, or tap individual ones to keep some.
- Tap the trash button and confirm.
Screen recordings live in their own Screen Recordings album under Media Types, and they’re often much bigger than screenshots — worth a look while you’re there.
Keep the ones you need
Select All is fast, but most of us have a few screenshots that matter: a ticket, a receipt, a conversation. Before deleting, tap those to deselect them, or heart them first so they’re easy to find later. A safe habit is to keep the last month and clear everything older.
Get the space back
Deleted screenshots move to Recently Deleted and stay for 30 days. To free the space now:
- In Photos › Collections, scroll to Utilities and tap Recently Deleted.
- Tap View Album and unlock with Face ID or Touch ID.
- Tap Select, then More › Delete All, and confirm.

How much will this free?
A single screenshot is typically a megabyte or two, so screenshots matter most when there are thousands of them. If you only have a few hundred, you’ll get far more back from your biggest videos and near-duplicate photos.
